Posted by admin in : Songs , trackbackWith her thick Australian accent regularly shining through her songs, Missy Higgins manages to overcome the wonderful beach scenes and “shrimps on the barbie” thoughts that run through my head every time I hear an Aussie accent by creating songs of depth and feeling where her accent only serves to increase the impact of such lines as
I’ve hardly been outside my room in days, ’cause I don’t feel that I deserve the sunshine’s rays. The darkness helped until the whiskey wore away. And it was then I realise the conscience never fades.

And when her gorgeous Aussie inflection shines through on happier (but no less impactful) lines such as

it leaves you not giving a Fosters XXXX about anything else.

I agree 100%. I love Missy Higgins and have been a fan of hers for years now. I can’t wait for her next album. To think that she is still so young… Not many have that much wisdom to spread at such a young age. I bet she’s been round before:)
i love missy higgins .. I have for like 2 years now i think. I randomly stumbled on ’secret’ on youtube and fell in love with her and her music. The special two is soo sweet; its mine and my gf’s song. I cried when i first hurt it.. lol

i absolutly love missy higgins.first heard her in 2005 when was in aus and she had just released first album.saw her playing a small concert in darling harbour,it was free because she wasnt really famous!i even bought the piano sheet music for her songs so i could play them myself!!!!!would love to see her in concert again but unfortunately she hasnt really caught on in ireland
